Company age and engineering experience are different things

N-Thesis is based in Skopje, North Macedonia. The company is relatively young. Several of its engineers have around a decade of professional experience each, most of it gained before N-Thesis existed.

We keep those two things apart. The case studies on this site describe work N-Thesis delivered as a company. The experience our engineers built earlier, with other employers and their clients, shapes how we work, but we do not present it as N-Thesis projects or client relationships.

What the team brings

  • Backend and product engineering Services in Java, Kotlin and Go, built with Spring Boot, with Angular front ends and PostgreSQL databases. Integrations between systems, and distributed systems that have to stay consistent.
  • Systems and blockchain Systems programming in C++ and Rust, and experience building blockchain systems.
  • Production infrastructure Some of our engineers have managed production Kubernetes clusters and worked on infrastructure, CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, observability, and reliability.
  • Algorithms and data Algorithmic work and data processing, including in research and analytical domains.
  • Complete products Building whole products, not only components, including the in-house products described on this site.

These describe the team as a whole. Not every engineer has worked with every technology, and not every technology was used on every project.

How we like to work

Understand the domain first. Genetic research, Stamp Duty litigation, and property maintenance are very different fields. In each, the software was only useful once the problem was understood.

Make the important decisions explicit. Architecture decisions and trade-offs are written down so they can be questioned while they are still cheap to change.

Carry the work into production. The people who design a system are the people who know what it needs to run. Deployment and operational documentation are part of the delivery.

Stay independent. We recommend what fits your system and your team, not a product we resell.

Talk to us about the system you are building.

Start with what the software needs to do and where the difficult decisions are.
